1.  What do I need to start using CBB's Online Banking?

You will need to know your account number, which will be your initial Access ID, and your initial Password is the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.  (If you are a telephone banking user, your initial Password will be your telephone banking Password.)  Once you are logged in, you will be prompted to change your initial Password to something that is unknown to everyone else.  You will also have the option to change your Access ID to something other than your account number.

You will also need Internet access using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher with 128-bit strong encryption OR Netscape Communicator 4.5 or higher with 128-bit encryption.  If you need to upgrade your browser, you can do so now.

NOTICE: By clicking on either the Internet Explorer of Netscape link, you are leaving Community Business Bank's website.  We do not warrant or guarantee that the information on the external website you will visit will be accurate, or up-to-date.  This foreign site is not subject to our Bank's Privacy Policy.  If you feel the site contains inappropriate material, or is no longer available, please Contact Us.

Get Microsoft Internet Explorer   or   Netscape Now

REMINDER: For best results, your screen should be set to 800 x 600 resolution.

2.  Is Online Banking secure?

The server that stores your Community Business Bank account information uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.  This security encrypts the data sent making it difficult to see your information.  In other words, your information is sent in a scrambled format.  To ensure that the information is being sent from a secure server, the address will start with "https://" rather than "http://".  Also, you know you are receiving information from a SSL server securely by seeing the closed padlock at the bottom of your computer screen.

When using 128-bit encryption technology to scramble your information, it would take a computer that is dedicated to do nothing else many years to unscramble.  We require that Internet Explorer browsers use the 128-bit high encryption pack option for the strongest security available today.   Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack is available for download now.  Netscape users must use Netscape Communicator 4.5 or greater with 128-bit encryption to access CBB's Online Banking system.

Netscape Navigator 2.0 and 3.0 display a broken key icon when on a site that does not require encryption.  A solid key will appear when the site is secure. However, Online Banking Netscape users must use Netscape Communicator 4.5 or higher with 128-bit encryption.  If you do not see a closed padlock, you should upgrade your browser before accessing the system in order to have a secure connection.

NOTICE: By clicking on either the Internet Explorer of Netscape link, you are leaving Community Business Bank's website.  We do not warrant or guarantee that the information on the external website you will visit will be accurate or up-to-date.  This foreign site is not subject to our Bank's Privacy Policy.  If you feel the site contains inappropriate material or is no longer available, please Contact Us.

3.  As a First Time User, how do I log in?

Before you begin, you must fill out an Application that you can request from a CBB Personal Banker.  Once the Application is received, your access will be allowed within two hours.  To access your accounts for the first time, you must click on the "First Time User" button, then click on "Terms & Conditions"; we request that you read them carefully.  You may also refer to our most recent version of the "Important Information About Deposit Accounts" brochure.

Close this window to continue the log in process.  Enter your initial Access ID (your account number),  the type of account it is, and then your initial Password, which will be the last 4 digits of your SSN.  You will immediately be prompted to change your Password.  At this time, you may also change your Access ID.  Whatever you wish your Access ID to be, it must be typed in the "New Access ID" field.  If you are changing it, your new Access ID must be 6 to 10 characters in length, with no specific requirements.  Your new Password must also be 6 to 10 characters in length and must have at least one number and one letter in it.

You will then be prompted to set your Security Data.

  • Contact Information: Enter your email address and confirm, if it is not already in the respective fields.

  • Image and Phrase: Type in your authentication phrase in the respective field to correspond with the image you see.

  • Challenge Questions and Answers: Choose three of the challenge questions and type in your answers in the respective fields.  Be sure to remember your answers, as you made need them for future log ins.

  • Select One of the Following Options: Personal Computer, Register It or Public Computer, Do Not Register It.  Note: Never register a public computer that can be used by another individual.

The next time you log in, you will not need to click on the "First Time User" button.  If you are logging on to a computer that you registered, you will simply enter your Access ID, click Submit, and your image and your chosen phrase will appear.  If this is correct, you will enter your Password.  If you are logging in from a computer that you did not register, you will enter your Access ID; one of your questions will appear and answer it accordingly.  If you answer correctly, the image and chosen phrase will appear and if they are correct, you will enter your password, then click Submit.

However, in the case where you are locked out of the system (if you forget your Password or try the incorrect Password too many times) you will need to notify your Personal Banker to reset your Password.  Once your Password is reset,  you will, again, log in as a "First Time User".  Just like the first time you logged in, you will be prompted to enter the Security Data again.

4.  Why can't I log in to CBB's Online Banking?

Before you begin, you must fill out an Application that you can request from a CBB Personal Banker.  Once the application is received by the Bank, your access will be allowed in 2 hours.

CBB's Online Banking system now requires that your computer's browser utilize 128-bit encryption for your security, and the connection will be automatic within the United States.  However, the connection will not be automatic outside the U.S.; Internet Explorer will need the 128-bit high encryption pack for the strongest security available.  Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack is available to download now.  If you use Netscape, you must use Netscape Communicator 4.5 or higher with 128-bit encryption to access the Bank's Online Banking.

The security feature for CBB's Online Banking is only valid with the assumption that you are the only one who knows your Password.

The system will consider you a "First Time User" until you have changed your Password at least once.  (You will be prompted to do so at your first log in.)  We suggest that you do not bookmark this page until you are no longer considered a "First Time User"; there is a unique log in screen for First Time Users, which is different from the log in screen you will use for all future log ins.

Your Access ID is case sensitive.  If you used any capital letters in setting up your Access ID, you must capitalize those same letters each time you enter you Access ID.  If you are still unable to access CBB's Online Banking system, check to see if your caps lock button is activated.

5.  What is my Access ID?

Your initial Access ID is your account number.  Once you are logged in to the system, you will be prompted to change your Password.  You will also have the option to change your Access ID.  If you chose to change it, you must enter it in the proper field.  If you chose to keep your Access ID as your account number, you must enter that number in the "New Access ID"  field.  Whatever you want your Access ID to be, it must be entered in the respective field.

If you chose to change your Access ID, you will enter your new Access ID in the respective field.  Your new Access ID must be 6 to 10 characters in length and it is case sensitive; however there are no specific requirements as to the type of characters.

6.  If I have a joint account, how do I access my account?

If the only account you have is a joint account with another person, the first owner to log in, for the first time, will enter the account number as the Access ID and enter the last 4 digits of their SSN as their Password.  Then, this account owner must change their Access ID at the same time they change their Password.  When the second owner logs in, for their first time, they will use the account number as their Access ID and use the last 4 digits of their SSN as their Password.  The second owner must change their Password; however, they may keep the account number as their Access ID.  Each owner will have their own Access ID that corresponds with their Password.

If the two owners have more than one joint account together, they may each choose a different account number as their Access ID and then use the last 4 digits of their SSN as their initial Password.  These Access IDs are only used to log in to the system; each owner will be able to look at all of their accounts once they are logged in.  Remember, each user will be prompted to change your Password upon initial log in.

7.  How do I go about choosing my Password?

We strongly suggest that you do not use the name of your spouse, child, pet, a family member's birthday, or any other codes that may be easily determined as a Password.  You may use the "Password" button to change your Password if you choose; however to help you protect your Password, you will be prompted to change it every 90 days.

Your new Password will have to be 6 to 10 characters in length and must have at least one number and one letter in it.  Remember, your Password is case sensitive.

8.  Is there a certain type of PC that is more compatible with CBB's Online Banking?

The best type of PC to work with CBB's Online Banking is an IBM compatible PC and the best software would be Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.  A Macintosh PC will usually work, but they are a little more unpredictable.

11.  When do my banking transactions appear on  CBB's Online Banking system?

You are able to view most of your financial information "live".  Any transactions that are completed in person at the Bank, through CBB's Online Banking system, or through CBB's Telephone Banking system will appear under the "Current Transactions" button.  Any electronic items, including ATM and debit card transactions, will appear on CBB's Online Banking system the next business day after the day the transaction takes place.

12.  How can I be certain that a transfer I set up will occur?

One Time Transfer.  You can rest assured, when you receive a Confirmation Number, that your "One Time Transfer" has occurred.  We recommend that you print the frame with your Confirmation Number on it.  In addition, you may want to write down the Confirmation Number and transfer information, if printing it is not possible.  Remember, the Bank will need this Confirmation Number in order to research any dispute.

New Scheduled Transfer.  The details of your transfers that were set up using the "New Scheduled Transfer" button will appear by choosing the "Transfer" button under the account the transfer will be coming from.

13.  How do I cancel a one-time transfer or a scheduled transfer?

A One Time Transfer is "real-time".  This  means once you "Submit" your transfer request, it will reflect in your balance. In order to reverse this transfer, you will need to transfer the amount the opposite way from the original set-up.  For example, if you transferred money from your savings account into your checking account, you will do just the opposite to reverse it, i.e. you will transfer that same dollar amount from checking into savings.

A Scheduled transfer is not "real time".  This means they go into effect during the system's nightly update.  So, if your transfer is scheduled for the current business day, you can still change it before the update.  Any transaction done before 6:00 PM  on a business day will post on that same day.  Any transactions done after 6:00 PM on a business day will post on the next business day.  Saturdays, Sundays and Federal Holidays are not considered business days.

You may view your future scheduled transfer by clicking on the "Transfer" button.  To modify a scheduled transfer, click the account number involved in the transfer you wish to change; this will open the transfer details.  To cancel the scheduled transfer, change the remaining transfers to zero, you may also make other changes needed.  Then, click "Update Transfer Information".

14.  How do I skip one of my scheduled transfers and keep the future ones?

Click on the "Accounts", go to the bottom of this drop-down menu and select "Account List".   Select the account that the transfer is being made from.  Click the "Transfers" button, go to the bottom of this drop-down menu and select "Transfer List".  From the list of transfers, select the one you wish to skip.  Change the transfer date to the next date that you would like the transfer to resume on and then click "Submit".  This will skip the current transfer date and amount, and the transfer will continue with the date that you entered.

15.  What is an Express Transfer?

An Express Transfer will allow you to make a transfer with just 4 simples clicks of your mouse.  Click the "Express Transfer" button, select the account from which the funds are coming from.  Select the account into which the funds are going.  Enter the amount you choose to transfer and then click "Next".  A verification screen will appear, once you have reviewed the transaction that will take place and agree with it, you can click "Submit".   If you change you mind, you can click "Cancel" to end it, or "<Back" to make appropriate changes.  When you click "Submit", a confirmation screen will appear.  We recommend that you either print this screen out or write down the confirmation number.  Should there be a dispute with your transfer, we will need this number to research it further.

16.  When there are large amounts in my account, why can't I see all the numbers?

For best viewing, your screen resolution should be set to 800 X 600.  To select or view your setting, click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then click Display.  A window will pop up.  Select the Settings tab, and in the bottom right corner, change the screen area to 800 by 600 pixels, then click Apply.

17.  Why can't I see my spouse's account?

Your Password allows you access to only the accounts in which you are either an owner or a signer on.  If you are not able to view an account that you believe you should be able to view, please contact a Personal Banker at either of Community Business Bank's locations from 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday.

At the bottom of this box, you will select the format that your money management software accepts, then click "Export".  You will be able to select from: Comma Separated File [.CSV], Intuit Quicken [.QIF], Microsoft Money [.OFX], and Intuit Quickbooks [.IIF].

19.  What do I do if I forget my Password, or get locked out by trying the incorrect Password too many times?

22.  At times when I am viewing my statement, why does CBB's Online Banking system log me out?

CBB's Online Banking module has a security feature that will log you out after 20 minutes of inactivity.   The simple viewing of a statement is not considered "activity".  Online Banking "activity" would be actual transactions done within the module, i.e. a transfer or downloading a statement into your money management software.

Another remote possibility that also may log you out of CBB's Online Banking module could be your anti-virus software.  This software may cause an interference that will automatically log you out of the module.
